Formerly used flag

Flag of Morden, Manitoba (Canada) image located by Valentin Poposki, 7 July 2011

A formerly used flag of the Town of Morden, Manitoba, was white with the logo on it. The logo shows a clock tower in front of the sun, "Morden" and "See History Unfold". The process of having a new logo designed started in April of 2004. The design was approved by Council on November 29th, 2004 and the logo legally became a trademark on January 7th, 2008. The logo was designed by Richard Chamberlin Communications of Winnipeg.

LOGO MEANING:

  • MORDEN = Elegant and classic, friendly, welcoming, healthy, pathways to walk, leaves of plants.
  • CLOCK TOWER = One clock face can represent the past and the other the future.
  • SUN = Rising sun of opportunity as well as sunny Manitoba.
  • SEE HISTORY UNFOLD = This is all encompassing with the young and old being a part of Morden. The Town's historic downtown, Museum with history going back 80 million years, historic buildings and the exciting future of the Town of Morden all fit into this theme. This theme has two verbs which makes it very strong.
  • COLOURS = The colours are warm and organic and spring from the prairie landscape.

Information and image of the flag thanks to Carol Wilkinson, former Community Resources Officer.
