Renaissance shield Gules, over a fess wavy Argent a bear's torso of the same, armed Or and having a collar Or with annulet of the same.
Meaning:
The bear's torso is taken from the arms of the Lords of Meitingen, known since 1239. They moved to Augsburg and became very rich by trading. The tinctures red, silver and gold are reminding on the fact that the town belonged to the Counts of Burgau, who ran customs facilities in the village. Their arms had been bendy of six of Argent and Gules. The fess wavy is representing the Lech River, the eastern boundary of the village, and the Lech Canal. Meitingen gained the rights of a market town in 1989.
