Description of banner:
It is a white - red vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is shifted to the top. Above the arms is a black, centred inscription "STADT"(1st line) "HOLZGERLINGEN"(2nd line).

Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a red shield is a silver (= white) fleur de lis.
Meaning:
Holzgerlingen gained the title of a city in 1993. The existence of the fleur de lis is first proven on a capstone from 1473 in the local church. The symbol didn't appear in the seals of the village until the 19th century. It was used in the arms first in 1927. It has been claimed that it is the symbol of the St. Mary or a symbol of grace or simply a local symbol Fleckenzeichen). All these presumptions could however never be proven. Holzgerlingen was a dominion of the Palatine Counts of Tübingen, before it was finally purchased by Württemberg.
