Meaning:
The basic pattern, i.e. the fess dancetty with three points, is also known as the Franconian rake. The municipality belongs to Badenian Franconia. The rose is a canting element. The municipality was established on 1 January 1972, when the former municipalities of Rieden, Uttenhofen and Westheim merged. The region was already known before as the rose garden, and thus the name of the new municipality was found.
