Bad Gottleuba Coat of Arms

Shield Or an eagle Sable armed and tongued Gules.
Meaning:
Gottleuba probably was established as a settlement for miners after 1363. A church ,administrated by the Archbishopric of Prag, was mentioned in 1363. The settlement belonged to the Kingdom of Böhmen and was acquired by the Margraviate of Meißen in 1405. The existence of ore mining and silver mining is proven since 1388. Mining declined during the 17th century and was discontinued in 1889. In 1881 a spa was founded. The prefix "Bad" was added to the name in 1936. The eagle is the imperial eagle. The pattern is known from the oldest city seal, which was in use until 1749.

Berggießhübel Coat of Arms

Shield Argent a kneeling miner dressed Sable hewing the black rocks by hammer and mallet.
Meaning:
A settlement for miners was established shortly before 1450. Ore mining became important and in 1545 the settlement was called a market town, which gained city rights in 1548. Ore mining declined during the 30-Years-War (1618 – 1648) but was restored since 1819 and in 1836 a metallurgical plant arose. Mining was finished in 1892. During a flood in 1927 the city was destroyed nearly completely. The background colour of the shield had been golden at least until 1989.
