Shield Argent, an eradicated fir Vert on lawn of the same.
Meaning:
The existence of the pattern is proven by seals prints since 1400. The seals probably were made in 1337, when the Palatine Counts Rudolf and Ruprecht granted the rights of a market town. The canting fir there is displayed on a triangular shield and has many fir cones. Since around 1500 the fir is displayed eradicated and impending. The lawn was added on town seals and in literature in the 19th century. Oberviechtach gained city rights in 1952.
