Shield Vert a crozier Argent issuant from base, superimposed in base by an open pair of scissors Or, in chief two grapevines Or.
Meaning:
The crozier is referring to the Bishopric of Würzburg and to the Cistercian Abbey of Ebrach. The scissors had been part of the family arms of the Zabelstein kin and the Scherenberg kin. The grapevines are symbolising viticulture. The green colour is representing forestry, the Steigerwald, a local wood and the suffix "-au" , a wet meadow, in the name of the municipality,
