Mühlheim City Coat of Arms

Shield Argent a watermill's wheel Sable.
Meaning:
In the 13th century the Counts of Zollern founded a new town alongside an already existing settlement. Before they had built a castle, which had been completed probably around 1250. Prints of the oldest city seal existed since 1266, already displaying the canting millwheel. Between the four spokes had been 12 balls (4-times a triplet). Their meaning could never be revealed. Those balls were omitted later. The city was acquired by the Lords of Weitingen in 1391 and, as a fiefdom of the Bishopric of Konstanz, and by the Lords of Enzberg in 1409. In 1806 the city was acquired by Württemberg. The arms basically remained the same, but the number of paddles after 1971 was reduced from 10 down to six and the shape was different. The tinctures are those of the Zollern kin.
