Moderdonia is a fictitious country created in May 2017 by the humorists
Ignatius, Quequé and David Broncano in Valdelagua, a village of the
Province of Guadalajara (Castilla-La Mancha) inhabited by three. Moderdonia is the main site of the radio program La Vida Moderna
(Modern Life) released by Cadena SER, which is also broadcasted on TV
and YouTube.
In the aftermath of the "dissolution" of Moderdonia (end of the program)
on 21 May 2018 (during chapter 137 of season 4), La Vida Moderna
turned into a live show performed on stage by the three humorists (website).

The flag of Moderdonia (photo, photo, photo, photo, photo, photo, photo, photo, photo), presented on 7 May 2027 by Ignatius Farray on his Twitter account, is fuchsia with an horizontal white stripe near the bottom and a white "M" surmounted by a white star in canton.
The flag is featured in several episodes of La Vida Moderna (video,

photo, especially the "Honor the Flag" episode (video).
The viral popularity of Moderdonia among the youth and the widespread
use of its flag, as well as calls for transformation of the "mental
State" into a registered political party, have been interpreted by
Mariona Ferrer, Professor of Political Sciences at Universidad Pompeu
Fabra, as partially rooted in the aspiration of many young people "to
find referents questioning the speeches of unity and rupture and
breaking with them. The polarization of public opinion in the aftermath
of the Catalan crisis and political disillusion are huge (in the
program, the Spanish State is called Antiguonia, from antiguo, "old");
accordingly, displaying the Moderdonia flag can be seen as an answer to
the massive display of Spanish and Catalan flag to support either unity
or rupture.
