The municipality of Fuentenava de Jábaga (573 inhabitants in 2014; 13,309 ha; municipal website) is located 15 km west of Cuenca. The municipality is made of the villages of Jábaga (municipal seat), Fuentesclaras, Navalón, Villar del Saz de Navalón, and Sotoca.
Jábaga is named for the Arab word yabla, meaning "a mount". The
village was first documented in 1355; during the Castilian Civil War,
the town of Cuenca refused to house Peter I the Cruel, who had to
withdraw to Jábaga for days. The new borough of Señorío del Pinar was
established in 2000.
Fuentesclaras is named for the fountains (fuentes) that supplied the
area with clear (clara) water; the village was re-settled by colonists
coming from Molina.
Navalón is named for the old Castilian word nava, "a wet and fertile
plain surrounded by mountains". The village was granted by Alfonso VIII
to Juan Yánez, the first bishop of Cuenca.
Sotoco must have been named for a diminutive form of soto, "a
lowland". The village was first mentioned in a document signed by
Ferdinand IV in 1302. The village's fountain is of Roman origin; remains
of a Roman road have been found nearby.
Villar del Saz de Navalón was named for the willows (sauces) that
profusely grew around an old estate (villar).

January 2009 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 23
January 2009 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 15, p.
2,914 (text).
The flag is described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 2:3, made of a blue panel with a white triangle charged with six green uprooted pines, placed along the hoist and reaching the fly's midpoint.
The coat of arms of Fuentenava de Jábaga is prescribed by an Order
issued on 22 April 2009 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and
published on 15 May 2009 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha,
No. 92, p. 2,915 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:
Coat of arms: Wavy azure and argent a pile inverted argent six pines eradicated vert placed 1, 2 and 3.
