Local Council Yirqa (which everybody call it Yarka) is a Druze village in the Western Galilee, NE of Acre. A Local Council from 1959, with 10'500 inh. In my visit there were only the national and Druze flags at the city hall. I was informed that an emblem on monochrome is used when needed. I made two basic designs, one with the coloured emblem and the other with an outlined emblem.
The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), 'Publications Gazette' section (Yalkut ha'Pirsumim), YP 1554, 25 September 1969.

Yirka was supposed to be part of the "City of Five" (a.k.a. GYYA) that was legislated in 2003. However, strong opposition of the locas made the decision reversed in 2004 and it was reinstated to its former status as local council.
The Druze live in Yirka since the 11th Century. The name is attributed to Hushai HaArqi, King David advisor, whose grave is in this village, as well as Druze holy graves.

The emblem includes a flower (anemone ?) and cross swords with Magen David, which was the badge of the Druze unit in the IDF.
