The Competition Council (Consiliul Concurenţei) is an autonomous authority,
subordinated to the Parliament, which ensures the enforcement and observance of
the legislation in the domain of competition, state aid and advertising within
its competences. The Competition Council is the successor of the National Agency
for Protection of Competition (2007-2012).
The goal of Competition Council is
to ensure the observance of competition legislation through actions of
preventing anticompetitive practices, removal of competition infringements,
promoting and improving the competition culture.

The flag and arms of the Competition Council, approved by Decision No. 2
issued by the Council on 21 March 2019, were registered on the Armorial General
of the Republic of Moldova by Decision No. 157 issued on 23 May 2019 by the
Heraldry National Commission and published on 5 July 2019 in the official
gazette, No. 218-222, Article 1,195.
The flag is composed of a
rectangular (2:3) cloth, red, charged in the center with a yellow eagle with
half-spread wings, holding in the beak a yellow cross, in the right claw five
white arrows and in the left claw Mercury's caduceus, on the chest the lesser
coat of arms of the Republic of Moldova (horizontally divided red-blue
superimposed with an auroch's head surrounded by an eight-pointed star between
the horns, by a rose dexter and a contourned crescent sinister, all in yellow).
The flag is a banner of the Council's arms.
