Flag

The flag was inaugurated in Quiroga, Michoacán, on 17 August 2018. Blue is for the sky; green represents the forests and hills; yellow is for the corn and wheat seeds, which when mixed produced the yellow corn; orange stands for the land. In the center there is a star bearing atop the Sun representing North, and the Moon in the bottom representing South, two deers, female and male, recall the main divinity among Mazahuas and Otomis.

Fictitious Otomi flags

Two supposed Otomi flags circulate on the internet. Such flags, as to many Mexican flags published in Internet, particularly in Wikipedia, do not exist. Unfortunately one of them has been already published in FOTW with any prove or evidence about its existance.
