Coat of arms

Shield Argent, issuant from base a mount Vert, charged with three bezants ordered 1:2, above an impending wheat sheaf Vert tied Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "MONTE DO TRIGO".
Meaning:
Sheaf and mount together are canting, because the commune's name means "mountain of wheat". Three golden balls, here bezants, usually are an attribute of St. Nicholas, however St. Julian is the local patron saint.
