It is a slightly untypical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of blue and white. Please note, that written sources are presenting the arms with mural crown Argent, as it should be acc. to law, but photo of flag reveals a golden mural crown.

Shield Argent with base wavy of Azure and Argent, an eradicated olive tree Vert fruited sable, flanked by two rams respectant Sable. Mural crown Or with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "MIDÕES - TÁBUA".
Meaning:
The charges are referring to the most important local business lines: production of olive oil and sheep breeding. The base wavy is symbolizing Mondego River.
