Shield Or two eradicated chestnut trees Vert fruited Sable with slit Argent in fess, in chief three lozenges Azure in fess and a jug Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE FELGAR E SOUTO DA VELHA".
Meaning:
Both the flag and the arms are very like those of Felgar, which got its single mulberry tree replaced with the two chestnut trees of Souto da Velha. (And the whole is 3+2+1, like something meant to teach children how to count: "uma bilha, duas árvores, e três áses de ouros…".

Meaning:
The arms represent unmetaphorically the local importance of pottery and mulberry growing; I have no clue about the three lozenges.
