The municipality of Makole (2,020 inhabitants in 2002; 3,690 ha) was formed in 2006 by separation from Slovenska Bistrica.
Željko Heimer, 15 June 2006
The flag and arms of Makole are prescribed by Decision Odlok o grbu in zastavi Občine Makole (text), adopted on 18 September 2007 and published on 15 October 2007 in the local official gazette Uradno glasilo slovenskih občin, No. 26.
The flag (photo, photo) is in proportions 2:5, horizontally divided blue-green by wavy
line, of unspecified shape. Both horizontal and vertical versions of the flag are prescribed.
The wave is indeed of the same shape as the wavy line between the blue and green fields in the coat of arms, forming two hills and a mild valley inbetween.

Coat of arms of Makole - Image by Željko Heimer, 31 January 2017
Article 3 of the aforementioned Decision describes the coat of arms, quite esoterically, as follows:
(1) The coat of arms has the shape of a shield ending semicirculary. The two basic colours are blue and green, the third is golden.
(2) The blue colour represents sky and water, that is river Drava (waves). Green represents the hilly region, gold represents corn ears and a bunch of grapes.
(3) [...] The corn ears are set in saltire, under the middle point is the bunch of grapes, [13 balls in the grape symbolize 13 villages, the saltire stands for St. Andrew, the parish church's patron saint, ears and grape also symbolize the eucharisty].
