Central Upper Nile State

This was a short-lived state, being established on 14 January 2017 and later disestablished on 22 February 2020. Based on limited images, the state flag was blue with the state emblem in the center; underneath was a black ribbon (likely reading Central Upper Nile State), like the flag of the Upper Nile State today.

Emblem

image by Daniel Rentería, 26 October 2025

The Central Upper Nile State emblem was the same as the Upper Nile state. It depicts, over a white circle, an African shield with a hole in its center. A staff is also seen in front of it. Behind it are two crossed spears: the one on the left composed of triangles and the one on the right of a leaf shape. Some versions can include the text CENTRAL UPPER NILE underneath, or even not include the word central.
