Description of the flag

Jack Murphy became interested in flags when his father John introduced him to the FIFA World Cup. He had an idea about designing a flag for Jefferson, which had never had a flag since being established in 1804, but didn’t make it a realistic project until encouraged by his grandmother. In October 2022 he started working on a flag while in the 7th grade. He emailed mayor Eric Wilsusen, had meetings, and made several changes in design. The flag includes the township's logo and year of foundation; blue and gold are the colors of the township and its high school. The flag was raised at the town hall in June 2024.
