The Band

Echota Cherokee Tribe of Alabama is a state-recognized tribe, petitioning the federal government for similar recognition. Its headquarters are located in Falkville, AL.

 Echota Cherokee Tribe of Alabama (recognition date: 1984). The tribe was formalized under this name in 1980.

The Flag

The tribal flag is described as "The 'Phoenix' representing our 'rising from the ashes'. The 7 stars representing our clans. The single black star honoring our Ancestors whose light went out on the 'Trail of Tears..."
