Coat of Arms

The coat of arms, granted since 1951, is dominated by the so-called "Türkenturm" (Turk Tower). The defensive tower, a remnant of the former town fortifications, was built in the first half of the 17th century, at the time of the Turkish sieges. It also symbolizes the market's jurisdiction (picture, source).
