The flag of Illmitz is blue and white (like Podersdorf am See) with the coat of arms of the settlement.
Illmitz is a community in the Neusiedl am See district on the east bank of the Lake Neusiedler See (Ferto). The settlement has 2517 inhabitants (95% German; 1991 census). The settlement was a village in the Nezsider (Neusiedl) district of Moson (Wieselburg) county of the Kingdom of Hungary till 1920 (Treaty of Trianon).

The emblem presented here (flag and CoA) and on Wikimedia differ in some details. On the flag the egret is turned outwards, away from the fish and towards the hoist, while on the Wikimedia emblem it's turned towards the fish. The fish on Wikimedia has scales, while on the flag he hasn't. On the flag's emblem the base is depicted as two wavy water surfaces, but not so on Wikimedia. The version with the water is prevailing in the public (and on the municipality's Facebook page), e.g. see here, here (source) and here (source). The Wikimedia variant has, at best, a certain ghost rider existence, like here (source).

The fish and the great white egret (German: Silberreiher) in the arms obviously refer to the landscape around Illmitz which is characterized by swamps and a larger number of smaller and bigger salt lakes (German: Salzlacken). The region is part of the National Park Neusiedler See – Seewinkel.
Some images from Illmitz and surroundings can be seen in the famous Sissi movie. Because the film crew was not allowed to film in Hungary, they made some Hungarian scenes in the Seewinkel region.

I personally think that the image from Wikimedia Commons is incorrect – these frequently are.
