The Municipality of Formosa is located in the Department of Formosa, Formosa.
Its flag was unveiled on 25.05.2025.
"In a historic moment for local
identity, the city of Formosa now has its own flag. The initiative was launched
by the Municipality of Formosa through the "My City is a Flag" contest, which
invited residents to design an emblem that represents the spirit, history, and
values of Formosa.
The competition, which received over 120 designs,
became an unprecedented space for citizen participation, where creativity and
community commitment took center stage.
"The goal was to
foster a sense of belonging and promote local identity through a collective
effort," stated the Municipality, the event's organizer. They also emphasized
that the winning design was chosen by popular vote, reinforcing the democratic
nature of the initiative.
The selected flag will be officially unveiled
on May 25th, as part of the national celebrations. The municipality expressed
its gratitude to all participants who contributed their talent and ideas: "Each
design received is a testament to the love for our city," they stated in a press
release."
