 have the following characteristics.

width, the lateral dark green and the central white, representing the
predominant color of the natural environment and the town's pacific atmosphere.

crossed on a red background, symbolizing clearing with basic defense weapons.
 2. A brown cross on a blue background, representing faith predominant since the
oldest ages, 3. A maize plant and mountains, showing geography and the

The Law was abrogated by Municipal Law No.
196 promulgated on 13 June 1977, seemingly correcting omissions and explicitly
prescribing the municipal coat of arms.

municipality of São Martinho shall be 1.20 on 80 cm, the lateral stripe dark
green and the central stripe white, the three stripes of the same dimension.
§1. Green is the predominant color of the natural environment while the central
white stripe represents the town's pacific atmosphere.
Article 2.
The
municipal coat of arms of São Martinho, placed in the center of the flag and
featuring four quarters, shall have the following characteristics. 1. On a red
background, an axe, a hoe and a rifle crossed, symbolizing clearing with basic
defense weapons and labor tools, 2. On a blue background, a brown cross
representing faith predominant since the oldest ages, 3. On a yellow
background, a bovine and a pig, representing the municipality's main source of
income, since the oldest ages, 4. On a light green field, stones, representing
ore deposits found in the municipality. The shield surrounded on the right side
by a maize plant, the municipality's main crop, and on the left side by three
trunks and a tobacco plant, representing also main sources of income for the
