Shield Argent parted by a bend wavy Azure, over all a cross fleury Gules.
Meaning:
The blue bend wavy is a representation of the Sauer River. The cross is taken from the arms of the Benedictine Echternach Imperial Abbey, as the village belonged to the Echternach Provostry as part of the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg until the end of the 18th century.

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Argent parted by a centred cross Gules, over all in centre an inescutcheon Argent parted by a bend Sable, at sinister Gules an axe Argent and a spade Or in saltire.
Meaning:
The axe is an attribute of St. Matthew, the spade an attribute of St. Isidor. Both are co-patron saints of the local parish church. The red cross is taken from the arms of the Archbishopric of Trier, to which the area historically belonged. The inescutcheon displays the arms of Friedrich of Neuerburg. The village belonged to the Lordship of Neuerburg, a fiefdom of the archbishopric.

Meaning:
The demi-eagle is a differentiation of the arms of the Benedictine Echternach Imperial Abbey, as the village was under influence of the abbey for more than 1,000 years. The sinister half displays the arms of the Knights of Bollendorf.

Shield Argent parted by a bend sinister Azure charged with a sword Argent, above right a holly twig Vert with four berries Gules, beneath left a cross fleury Gules.
Meaning:
The cross fleury is alluding to the Benedictine Echternach Imperial Abbey, because the village was under influence of the abbey for more than 1,000 years. The twig of holly is symbolising the German-Luxemburgian Natural Preserve. The sword is an attribute of St. Lucia, the local patron saint. The tinctures blue and silver are those of the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg, the former sovereign.

Shield Argent parted by a bend sinister wavy Azure, above right an alder leaf Vert in bend sinister, beneath left a fleur-de-lis Gules.
Meaning:
Irrel had been seat of a mayor in charge of Edingen, Irrel, Menningen and Minden. The fleur-de-lis is a part of the cross fleury from the arms of the Benedictine Echternach Imperial Abbey, to which there had been close relationships for more than 1,000 years. The alder leaf is canting, as the name of the municipality is derived from alder (German: Erle).
