Katori adopted its of emblem/flag on 3 September 3 2006. Flag proportion: 2:3; colour of field: white; colour of emblem: blue, light blue and green; height of emblem: 129/200 of flag height; a stylized K of Katori si.

The flag of the forner town of Omigawa was blue with mark. The town is now, from 2006, part of the city of Katori.

The design is based on the kanji character for “small” (小); the three lines represent water and the town’s waterfront setting, while the circle symbolizes the unity and harmony of the townspeople.
