The city emblem was adopted on Jul 1st 1970 but there is no flag law. The green flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized hiragana し Shi and katakana ナ Na in a form of a pigeon as a symbol of a peace. It represents an image of the city flying for the future.
