On 13 June 2016 the Moldavian district of Glodeni adopted new symbols. This was
preceded by a decision of the Council of the district on 20 August 2014. The
former proposal was criticized by the Moldovan Heraldic Commission. The reason
was the similarity of the ox with the image on the national coat of arms. After
the modification of the presidential decree Nr. 2124 was made on 13 June 2016.
The new symbols are now official.
