Shield Or, a pulley, consisting of two rolls Sable with cable reels and winches Gules, altogether lifting a basket Gules garnished Sable from base, in chief a windmill's wheel Sable rigged Purpure. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "FREGUESIA DE ALJUSTREL".

Shield Purpure with base wavy of Argent and Azure, a wheat sheaf Or lined Sable, in chief two windmill's wheels Or rigged Argent ordered per fess, Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "RIO DE MOINHOS - ALJUSTREL". 
Meaning:
The meaning of the commune's name is literally "river of mills". Thus the wheels and the base wavy, with blue colour meaning sweet water, are canting elements.
