The shield is Argent, a ship Sable rigged Gules, sailing on a base wavy Vert-Argent-Azure-Argent-Vert, in chief two windmill vanes rigged Azure. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers  (village rank) and white scroll reading "GAFANHA DO CARMO" in black upper case letters

Gafanha do Carmo is one of the four communes of Ílhavo Municipality. It had 1526 inhabitants and covers 7,05 km².
