The arms are Or a cross Azure raised and in chief two scallops Gules. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "CRUZ - VILA NOVA DE FAMALICÂO" (see on left flag image above).

Commune is one of the 34 communes of Vila Nova de Famalicão Municipality; it had 1738 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 3.8 km².
