The shield of the arms is Argent a bunch of grapes Purple leaved Vert and two olive branches Vert fruited Sable, all three charges set 1:2. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters  "AGROCHÃO - VINHAIS"
Meaning:
"agro chão" is very archaic Portuguese (or perhaps just Northwestern Iberian Romance) for "flat field" (Latin: agrum planum_, acc.).

Agrochão Commune is one of the 26 communes of Vinhais Municipality; it had 280 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 18.1 km².
