The flag of Gülüç (photo) is white with the municipality's emblem. "Belediyesi" means "Municipality".
Gülüç is the cradle of the famous Osmanli (lit., Ottoman) strawberries,
now honored in the town by a sculpture (photos).
Ottoman strawberry is grown by more than 500 households in Karadeniz
Ereğli region. Ottoman strawberry, which has specific taste and smell,
has been rumored to be a hybrid of Arnavutköy and Kara cultivars.
Arnavutköy, named for a district of Istanbul, directly stems from the first strawberry plants brought to Türkiye in the late 18th century.
A phylogenetical analysis performed with RAPD markers revealed that the
Ottoman cultivar presents only limited genetic similarity with
Arnavutköy (34%) and much more similarity with Kara (68%) and Tüylü (73%).

The municipality of Ormanlı (2,451 inhabitants in 3013) is located 20 km south-east of Karadeniz Ereğli.
The flag of Ormanlı (photo) is white with the municipality's emblem. "Belediyesi" means "Municipality".
