The flag use the national colours to represent Vanuatu. The white
fimbriations mean the smoke of the volcanoes Bembow and Marun, that are in the
island. The three stars mean the three districts or councils of the island
(North, South and West). The tooth of a wild boar is placed at the start of the
wavy stripes representing the unity of the peace that exists between peoples of
the three councils that formerly were at war.
