Presentation of AK

FRD) was established on 30 April 2012 by Gazmend Oketa (b. 1968; Deputy Prime Minister in 2007-2008 and Minister of Defense in 2008-2009) as a splinter of the Democratic Party of Albania.
Oketa was succeeded in September 2012 at the party's chair by Bamir Topi (b. 1957), President of the Republic from 2007 to 2012, therefore the nickname of "President's party" given to FRD.
FRD received 1.70% of the votes at the 2013 parliamentary election and 0.32% of the votes at the 2017 parliamentary election.
