The Jefe de Estado Mayor General is the maximum military authority of the Argentine Air Force. The present day Estado Mayor General of the Argentine Air Force was created on December 10, 1983. Before that the maximum rank of the Air Force was the Comando en Jefe de la Fuerza Aérea.

The Comando de Regiones Aéreas (Air Regions Command) is the maximum authority of flight security for the Argentine civil aviation. It is responsable for flight licenses, airports (State´s owned or privatized), air traffic, accident investigation, etc.
On March 15, 2007, the President of the Republic Néstor Kirchner signed a decree that switched this command from military to civilian hands. This change will be made in steps and may have future modifications in this rank flag use.

The function of the Comando de Personal (Personnel Command) is the education, improvement, and welfare of the personnel of the Argentine Air Force.
All the educational schools including the Escuela de Aviación Militar (Air Force Academy), technical schools, hospitals and health organizations of the Air Force are part of this command.

The main function of the Comando de Operaciones Aéreas (Air Operations Command) of the Argentine Air Force is the defense of the national aerospace and to preform air operations and special tasks ordered to it. The command is also responsable for the training of the operative media and the technical and logistic supports. The operations of this command are preformed in several Brigadas Aéreas (Air Brigades).

I went to the National Aeronautics Museum (Museo Nacional de
Aeronáutica), and I checked the roundels on the planes for the
proportions. They appeared to be three concentrics circles of radiuses
1:2:3. Inner and outer circles are light blue (traditional argentine
celeste), middle circle is white.

uses a square variant of the national flag as fin
flash while the sun is
replaced by a proeminent yellow/gold dot.

I checked the book [whe86]
again and also some photos of FAA planes and it sure look
like a darker shade of blue. Using a darker shade is probably
to make the symbols (roundel and fin
flash) more visible.

aircraft roundel has the same colors
as the national ensign. (...)
The fin flash is a miniature of the national flag and
includes the “sun of May”
marking in the center commemorating the country’s
independence in 1810.»
