About the Flag

SolidaritÚS is a small leftist party of Trotskyist origin. It has one seat in the 200-seat lower chamber of the Swiss Parliament (Nationalrat = National Council). Mainly active in Geneva and other parts of French-speaking Switzerland, it has a branch in Basel under the name "Sozialistische Alternative" (Socialist Alternative).

The logo is the party name (in white) on a vertically divided red-black field. This is also the basic pattern of the flag: vertically divided red and black (about 3:1), with the white inscription "solidaritÚS" along the division.

The flag is almost exclusively used so that the red is at the hoist, the black at the fly, and the inscription is running vertically [1,2,3,4,5,6,7]. Only rarely the flag can be seen in a horizontal way [8].
