Bessarabia is a historical region, today mainly located in Moldowa with a smaller southern and eastern part in nowadays Ukraine. The flag is a blue-yellow horizontal bicolour with centred arms. The flag colours are those of Ukraine and partially of Moldowa as well. The arms are quartered. 1st quarter Argent a draw well Sable, 2nd and 3rd quarter parted per fess of Azure and Or (a repetion of the flag colours), 4th quarter Argent a horse forcene Sable, over all an inescutcheon Gules charged with grain ears Or.
