Weibersbrunn Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above parted per pale, at dexter Gules a 6-spokes wheel Argent, at sinister Sable an oval mirror Argent framed Or, beneath a well Argent masoned Sable with open gate, filled Azure with wavelets Sable.
Meaning:
Lothar Franz of Schönborn, Archbishop of Mainz (1695 - 1729) had planned to establish a production of plate glasse in the region and engaged three French gaffers in 1698 for the abandoned glass kiln in Rechtenbach. They started the production in Rechtenbach and in nearby Lohr upon Main. They also founded a third factory in a secondary valley of the Hafenlohr, a creek. This factory was extended between 1699 and 1717. The location was then first called Weibersbrunn. The production was stopped in Rechtenbach in 1801, in Lohr in 1803 and in Weibersbrunn in 1864. The mirror is alluding to the local glass factory. The wheel is symbolising that the area belonged historically to the Archbishopric of Mainz. The well (German: Brunnen) is a canting element.
