Shield Argent parted by a saltire Sable.
Meaning:
The arms are derived from the old arms, approved in 1960. Its white shield was parted by a blue bend sinister wavy, above right was an impending saltire Sable, beneath left three heraldic roses Gules seeded Or and barbed Vert and ordered 1:2. The wavy bend was symbolising the Sieg River and the merger of Wissen rechts der Sieg and Wissen links der Sieg in 1952. The latter belonged to the Archbishopric of Köln. The saltire is a differentiation of its arms, which displayed a black cross. The black saltire already appeared on a court seal of Wissen from 1539. The former belonged to the Lordship of Wildenburg-Hatzfeld. The roses are taken from the family arms of the lords. In 1968 the municipal arms were reduced to the saltire from the old court seal.

The banner was approved on 12 September 1969. The arms were approved on 2 October 1968.
