The lion is taken from the arms of the Lords of Oberbach, who owned estates in the current municipality in the Medieval. The fess from the arms of the Barons of Crailsheim is representing Niederoberbach and Sommersdorf. The saltire is taken from the family arms of the Counts of Oettingen.
