Feichten Coat of Arms

Shield Or, on an abased fess wavy Azure a lion rampant Sable, armed and tongued Gules, holding an eradicated fir Vert by his forepaws.
The black lion is taken from the arms of Salzburg and alluding to the long and close relationships to the city. The village was ceded to the church (no further details mentioned) in Salzburg before 789 and is first mentioned by its name as Fiuchten in 815, referring to the cession. The fir (German: Fichte) is a canting element. Furthermore it is alluding to the Lordship of Wald (English: wood or forest). The fess wavy is representing the Alz River. The suffix "an der Alz" was added to the name of the municipality in 1963.
