Berkheim Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, a pilgrim's hat Or, above two scallops Or in fess.
Meaning:
Hat and scallop are attributes of St. Willebold, whose name day is celebrated in an annual festival. The colours are those of the Counts of Calw. The saint is said to have belonged to their kin. Due to a legend he entered the village terminally ill in 1230 and he died in a barn, accompanied by signs and wonders. His remains are buried in the local church.
