Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, standing on base Maron a saint in clad armour Argent (realised as grey), nimbed Or, holding a lance proper in pale with a blue-yellow bicolour pennant in his right hand and a shield quartered of Azure and Or parted by a throughout cross Argent in his left hand.
Meaning:
The arms are based on a sculpture at the local city hall, displaying the city secret seal from 1722. The sculpture displays the saint under a porticus and with a circumscription "TEUCHERN SECRETUM CIVITATIS", over the porticus there is another inscription "VINCAT VERITAS ATQUE IUSTITIA" (= May truth and justice win!). Beneath there is a date "17 July 1722". City seals from 1900 display the same pattern. Otto Hupp (1925) however displayed a different pattern. In his version the saint obviously is St. George, because there is a defeated dragon replacing the base and shield and pennant both are white displaying the red cross of the saint, who is patron of the local parish church.

Please note, that the current municipality (Einheitsgemeinde) has not yet adopted proper symbols and these flag and arms have never been approved officially.
