Simmersfeld Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, a mountain cock Or, in base an axe and a sword crossed per saltire, both Or.
The axe is symbolising the forest clearences in the Medieval. The sword is representing a person named "Siegmar", name giver of the municipality. The original name had been "Sigmaresfelt" (= field of Siegmar). The cock (Latin: Tetrao urogallus) can still be found in the surrounding woods.
