Stephansposching Coat of Arms

Shield Or a cap Gules with three lappets and cuff Argent, flanked by a grain ear Gules at dexter and a beech twig Vert at sinister.
Meaning:
The cap is taken from the arms of the Degenberger family, who owned the districts (Bavarian: Hofmarken) of Stephansposching and Uttenhofen since the 14th century. The kin died out in 1602 and both districts were acquired by the Dukes of Bayern in 1606. The ear is symbolising the fertile soil of the so called Gäuboden. The twig is a canting element and representing Michaelsbuch, (=Michael's beech) and its the number of leaves is representing the former municipalities of Michaelsbuch, Steinkirchen and Rottersdorf, which became parts of Stephansposching in 1978.
