Möttingen Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Vairy of Or and Gules, beneath Argent parted by a cross patty Sable.
Meaning:
In 1323 the Counts of Oettingen sold their possessions in Möttingen together with the right of patronage over the local parish church to the Teutonic Order. They kept the sovereignty and the high level cognisance. The vair is taken from the alternating arms of the counts, the cross is that one of the order.
