Neustadt (Eichsfeld) Coat of Arms

Silver shield, issuant from base a red triplemount charged with a silver 6-spokes wheel, issuant from central peak a green linden tree supported by four black pallets, two on either side.
Meaning:
The wheel and the mount are reminding on the Archbishops of Mainz, the former rulers. The linden tree is said to be the most beautiful tree of this species in the whole Eichsfeld. It has a diameter of 14 meters and is standing on the common of Neustadt, where its leaves are protecting the inhabitants dancing on the common. Therefore it is called either "Tanzlinde" (=linden of dance) or "Angerlinde" (= linden, standing on the common).
