Mühlhausen Coat of Arms

Shield parted per bend, above left Argent a decollated bear's head Sable tongued Gules, beneath right Gules a demi-millwheel Argent.
The bear is taken from the arms of the Lords of Egloffstein, who lived here since 1372. They had been the most important local manorial lords and until 1802 also the local rulers. The watermill's wheel is a canting element.
