The shield is divided per fess into blue over silver (= white). The field above displays a golden (= yellow) hoist gear. The field below is divided by a black bend sinister, which is superimposed by three golden (= yellow) balls.
Meaning:
The hoist gear (German: Winde) is a canting element, representing the former city of Wendlingen, which merged in 1940 with the municipality of Unterboihingen. The existence of the hoist gear is proven in the arms of (Old-) Wendlingen since 1596. The colours were changed (before silver on black). The lower half displays a differentiation of the arms of the Lords of Wernau, which was found in the seals of the former municipality of Unterboihingen since 1930. Wendlingen gained city rights in 1230, granted by the Counts of Aichelberg as a counter-foundation against Kirchheim under Teck.

Banner and coat of arms were approved on 30 July 1965 by Minister of Interior of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 485/1965.
